Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2019
Leading environmental grantmaker Amanda Martin has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division for her services to conservation and the environment.
In 2009, Amanda co-founded the Australian Environmental Grantmakers Network (AEGN) and has been its Chief Executive Officer for the last decade. This award recognises outstanding achievement and service worthy of recognition, as well as ambition, dedication and compassion. Prior to her twelve years at the AEGN, Amanda contributed to the protection of the environment through her roles as the Executive Officer at the Poola Charitable Foundation, the Executive Officer at the Victorian National Parks Association and the Head of Policy and Planning at Parks Victoria.
The Reichstein Foundation benefits greatly from being able to work alongside Amanda and her team at the Community of Giving in East Melbourne; we are a proud supporter of and active member of the AEGN.
Congratulations also to colleagues in philanthropy Associate Professor Ruth McNair AM (Chair of the Pride Foundation, formerly GALFA); Carol Schwartz AO and Professor former Reichstein Trustee Rhonda Galbally AO who was recognised in the January list.
