Leading Influential Social Change Philanthropy – Enabling Systemic Change

The Reichstein Foundation is an Australian philanthropic pioneer supporting outstanding changemakers. The Foundation has shaped and influenced the infrastructure of giving and social change in Australia for the past fifty years.

The Reichstein Foundation was endowed in 1970 by engineer, manufacturer and civic leader, Lance Reichstein and is now chaired by his daughter, Jill. The Foundation is governed by eight Trustees who set its strategy and granting priorities. Its mission is to stimulate and invest in policy change and inspirational organisations and people to achieve a more equitable distribution of wealth and power and a healthy and sustainable environment. To achieve this mission, it provides support for interventions that tackle the systemic causes, and not just the symptoms, of injustice.

At an exciting time in its history, the Foundation is seeking a bold and collaborative CEO to lead the Foundation forward and continue to grow the Foundation’s impact. The primary purpose of the position is to expand the capacity of the Foundation to build on its fifty-year legacy of investing in social change philanthropy. Success will see the Foundation securing the growth of collaborative social change philanthropy to meet the contemporary challenges critical to realising its vision.

This role is the key relationship stakeholder for the Foundation. It will establish, nurture and build relationships with civil society organisations, grantees, donors, and the wider philanthropic community.

High quality candidates for this role will be strategic thinkers with experience developing and implementing a plan for the future. They will be inspired by the opportunity to collaborate with civil society and have the desire to remain at the forefront of the philanthropic sector. They will have a demonstrated commitment to leading social change and a record of success in providing strategic leadership to an organisation.  They will have strong skills in facilitating and connecting diverse stakeholders to advance the strategic goals of an organisation or sector.
